Luna is a lucky dog. She lives with three generations of family. At home, around her people, she is happy. But whenever the family had company, Luna was nowhere to be found. She was very fearful of anyone new. So when there was an emergency across the country that called everyone away, the family wondered who would take care of Luna. They could not use a dog boarding facility or dog hotel. She needed to be in the comfort of her own home. They asked around and heard that I had a gentle, patient approach. At the meet and sniff, Luna emerged from the periphery to investigate me. I knew not to put her on the spot, so I let her check me out without turning my attention directly on her. Well, this is progress already! So we booked visits and they booked flights. Photos like this (she's indulging in full blast air conditioning on a hot day) were a source of comfort while they were away. This very special family asked me to come over once they returned. When Luna jumped in my lap, they just could not believe it. I'm still the only human outside of her family to find a path to her heart.
